Gas Line Installation
Installing gas lines takes a high level of expertise. Hooking up a gas line on your own can be extremely dangerous.
Comprehensive Assessment
Should you get a new line or tie in to an old one? Whether you want a new gas tankless water heater or a new natural gas range, a gas fitter will make your life easier. Most manufacturers will not uphold a warranty for a gas appliance unless it's installed by a licensed contractor.
Running a new gas line for older homes is preferable in many instances because tying in to an older established gas line can come with some issues. Modern appliances (post 2020) that demand higher BTUs, don't connect easily to older gas pipes.
Gas is like a stream coming into your home; if some of it is diverted for a new appliance, the pressure will change for the entire home.
Depending on the year your home was built, your current gas pipe may be more than adequate for all sorts of appliances. We don't know until we check.
Efficient Permit Process
In Arizona, permits for gas line installations are only approved after a rigorous process. We submit carefully drawn schematics with exact measurements before the work begins and schedule a test with the city inspector after installation.
To pass code, the gas line must hold 10 PSI for a minimum of 15 minutes. Because the pressure from the test can put strain on your older fittings, we attend to them beforehand and assess your overall pressure methodically. A comprehensive assessment before any test makes all the difference.
Obtaining a permit is mandatory, and the installation must be inspected for safety reasons.
Schematics
At Water Rehab, we are meticulous with each schematic because the difference between drilling a hole through the joist before the main line is connected and drilling a hole after can mean the difference between a few hours of work or several days. We double-check every detail using a method that we've developed over decades. We have the experience to know details that others overlook. The perfect plan for your property is prepped, drawn to scale, and submitted ahead of time.
Testing
After everything is installed, our experienced gas fitters have to go back and check the connections from every angle to ensure compliance. Even a single gas bubble at one joist can be dangerous. Your safety is our priority. After we check, the city inspector comes and also tests to be sure that the gas line is perfect. Your family's health really does depend on this. We don't take it lightly.
